Rock band Jane's Addiction have broken up after a year of woes, including an explosive onstage fight and a $10million lawsuit.

The 80s band's frontman Perry Farrell, 66, got involved in an explosive altercation with guitarist Dave Navarro on stage during a concert in Boston in September 2024.

Jane's Addiction cancelled the rest of the tour after the bust up and Perry has since issued two grovelling apologies to fans and his fellow bandmates.

Just minutes after his second apology on Wednesday, the band shared on their Instagram that they have called it quits for good.

In a statement, the band shared they are breaking up and will instead focus on separate creative endeavours.

'We would like to clarify the events surrounding the cancellation of the tour after the show in Boston in September 2024,' they wrote.

'After that show, without notice to Perry, we unilaterally determined it would be best not to continue the tour and made inaccurate statements about Perry's mental health which we regret.

'Today we are here to announce that we have come together one last time to resolve our differences, so that the legacy of Jane’s Addiction will remain the work the four of us created together.

'We now look forward to the future as we embark on our separate musical and creative endeavors. Jane's addiction we forever live in our hearts. We are proud of the music we created together. You, the fans, are our lifeblood and we will always appreciate you.'

Jane's Addiction was formed back in 1985 in Los Angeles — and the band has been embroiled in drama over the years, from other past brawls onstage and multiple break ups.

Back in July of this year, it was revealed that Dave, Eric Avery and Stephen Perkins are reportedly suing Perry for $10million minimum in damages over the singer's public outburst last year.

The bandmates sued Perry for emotional distress, negligence, and breach of contract, TMZ reported.

But lawyers for Farrell told the Daily Mail, 'This is yet another clear example of the group uniting to isolate and bully frontman Perry Farrell.

'The timing of this baseless lawsuit is no coincidence — it was filed only after they caught wind of legal action coming from our side.'

The band's break up announcement came just after Perry issued his second public apology after attacking Dave on stage during a performance last year.

The fight took place in the middle of their song Ocean Days which saw Farrell marching over to Dave and punching him — which then sparked a brawl in front of concertgoers.

Shortly after the incident, it was announced that the band would be cancelling the remainder of its U.S. tour dates

Perry penned in his latest message to fans: 'To everyone in Boston, and around the world.

'I'd like to address what happened on stage last year. I've reflected on it and know I didn't handle myself the way I should have.'

The singer continued, 'I apologize to our patrons and my bandmates for losing my temper and for disrupting the show.'

He went on to explain how the band has been the 'center' of his own life since its formation in Los Angeles in 1985.

'The band, the songs, the patrons and the impact that we've had on music and culture mean more to me than any words I could ever possibly write down.'

Perry added towards the end of the statement that his goal has been to give fans 'the best possible show, something real, honest and positive.'

The music artist further apologised 'to everyone who was impacted' by the onstage brawl during the band's Boston concert.

'From the bottom of my heart, I want to thank each and every one of you for your continued love and support. Perry Farrell.'

During the performance last year when the incident occurred, tensions had seemingly mounted throughout the night - with some eyewitnesses suggesting that Farrell started to shout at Dave during the track Mountain Song.

But during Ocean Days, Perry could be seen walking over to his bandmate before punching him — with Dave seemingly being taken aback by the shock action.

Crew members made their way onto the stage while joined by bassist Eric Avery as they pulled Perry away from Dave. The bright lights were soon dimmed, making it hard for fans to visually see what was taking place - with the band soon walking off.
